Introduction. This notice sets out the way in which we, Alderson Gray, will collect and use information about you in a way that is consistent with our responsibilities and your rights under relevant privacy laws to ensure your privacy is protected. Please read it carefully so that you understand how we will use your information.

Why do we collect your personal information? We are retained by leading organisations to identify senior executives in order to place them into new roles. We collect and process personal data only so far as is necessary to ensure we conform with legal requirements. By submitting your details to us, you consent to us collecting and processing personal data supplied by you and disclosing this information to prospective employers and clients in connection with the recruitment process. If you no longer wish us to contact you or put you forward for suitable opportunities, please contact Alderson Gray and we will remove you from our database.

What information do we collect from you? Personal data such as your name, address, telephone number, career history will be collected from you when you register and/or apply online and your personal data will be used to manage your registration and application.  Alderson Gray will use your information for purposes of administering the services in connection with this site.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your CV is accurate and kept up to date.  If you provide details of a referee, it is your responsibility to ensure they are aware that you have forwarded their details, we will normally only contact them with your consent anyway and normally at job offer stage.

Any registration information and/or CV that you submit to the careers area of this website will be hosted on a segregated area of the Alderson Gray server but are not viewable or obtainable by any entity other than Alderson Gray.  However, please note that if you register with or activate your CV to the careers area of this website and later attempt to register with Alderson Gray, we will recognise your account details.  If you then continue with the registration, the handling of your registration information and your CV will be subject to the privacy commitment and terms of use.

In addition, if you use our facilities to build a CV to put in our CV database, then you will be providing us with personal data which we will use in accordance with this Statement.  If your CV contains data relating to your (i) racial or ethnic origin (ii) political beliefs (iii) religious beliefs (iv) membership of a trade union (v) physical or mental health (vi) sexual life and (vii) the commission of criminal offences or proceedings then you should only provide this if you agree that we may retain this information and use it in accordance with this Statement.

What will we do with your personal information? We will hold your personal data in order to be able to place you in the most suitable position according to your background and experience. We may use this personal information to contact you to discuss future opportunities.

Personal data will be processed fairly and lawfully in adherence with the law. Reasonable and appropriate measures are taken to ensure that your personal data (including the information in your CV) is protected from unauthorized access or modification, unlawful destruction and improper use.  However, the internet is an open system and Alderson Gray can or do guarantee that the personal information you have submitted will not be intercepted by others.

In general, we gather information about all of our users collectively, such as what areas users visit most frequently and what services users access the most. We only use such data in the aggregate.  This information helps us determine what is most beneficial for our users and how we can continually create a better overall experience for our users.

How long will we hold your information for? We will hold your data for a period of 5 years before seeking confirmation that you are agreeable to us continuing to hold your data.

Who will we share your personal information with? No one, without discussing it with you first, and that will only be visible to the organisations we are working with when you are put forward for an opportunity.

General Information Disclosure. Alderson Gray will not disclose information about your individual visits to this website, or personal information that you provide, such as your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, etc., to any outside parties, except with your consent or when we believe the law requires it. Access to personal data is only available to us and prospective employers upon your consent. Some of our clients and partners may be located in countries outside the European Economic Area where the laws on holding personal data are less stringent.

The careers portion of this website is powered by WordPress.  Please note that your information will be stored and processed on computers in the UK.  Alderson Gray will hold and transmit your information in a safe, confidential and secure manner and will control and be responsible for your information.  Alderson Gray will not sell or rent your personal information to third parties except as described below. If you object to your information being transferred or used in this way, please advise us in soonest.

Feedback. Any feedback that is submitted becomes the property of Alderson Gray. We may use this feedback, such as success stories, for marketing purposes, or to contact you for further feedback on the site.  If you do not want your comments to be used in this way, please advise.

Children. We do not specifically collect information about children. We believe that children should get their parents’ consent before giving out personal information. If you are concerned about your child’s use of this website, we encourage you to use Web filtering technology to supervise your child’s access to the site.

Privacy Commitment Changes. If we decide to change our privacy commitment, we will post those changes here so that you will always know what information we gather, how we might use that information, and whether we will disclose it to anyone.

Your rights. You will have the right to request from us access to your own personal information. This is sometimes known as “subject access request”

  • that your candidate profile is provided to you in a portable format (* note there is a charge for this)
  • that decisions about you are not made by wholly automated means

Many of the rights listed above are limited to certain defined circumstances and we may not always be able to comply with your request. We will tell you if this is the case. If you choose to make a request to us to exercise any of these rights, we will aim to respond to you within one month. We will not charge a fee for dealing with your request (except *).
